Big News for Bend Pickleball!!

8 New Courts Coming Soon

The Bend Pickleball Club is delighted to announce that, through the amazing generosity of two members, we, together with Bend Parks and Recreation District, will soon begin construction of our next 8 pickleball courts. These will also be located in Pine Nursery Park in Bend, bringing the number of courts at that single location to 16. This addition, scheduled to be completed in time for next year’s Oregon Senior Games in June of 2015, makes this facility perhaps the largest single pickleball complex in the Pacific Northwest. Even more significant, the additional court facility gives the Bend Pickleball Club the court capacity to work with Bend Parks and Recreation to create a greater complement of pickleball programs to benefit the entire community.

The donors, a married couple, are donating up to $250,000 to complete this project. The donors have chosen to remain anonymous at this time, but are among our most active members, and were honored at our Bend Pickleball Club General Meeting on July 8, 2014.  We are hopeful that Bend Parks and Recreation District will also be able to help with shade structures, storage sheds, and other improvements necessary to run a large community pickleball program.
